When people hear this was a leopard hunting trip, they gasp, "...leopards are endangered, can you do that legally?" Sighhhh, yes, it's legal. Leopards are doing quite well in Zimbabwe. It's an ideal habitat for them. There are miles and miles of steep, rocky slopes with cracks and caves in which to hide, as well as plenty of wild game. Leopards still thrive among the rocks in Zimbabwe.

Rhinos, on the other hand, have a harder time. While the southern subspecies of White Rhino is the most abundant rhino in the world, poaching is a huge problem. It's such a problem in Zimbabwe that the rangers in the national parks will shoot you first and then ask questions if they suspect you are there for rhino horns.

Zimbabwe 2007 : My first trip to Africa. Actually, my first trip to anywhere in the eastern hemisphere. The only disappointment on this trip was that baboons and vervet monkeys are camera shy. I could NOT get a photo of those guys!
